Is there anything I can do to improve the quality of my shifter (MT obviously)? I feel like it is sloppy, but I have never driven any other stick volvo besides mine. Any bushing kits or anything? How does everyone else feel about the shifter?

Personally, I just think the M56 (not the same as the R's M66) is just a sloppy tranny.

You have cables running from the shifter to the transmission, doesn't seem like there is much than can be done. It's not like the good old days where you could throw a Hurst on and have toggle-switch-like shifting.

Definitely improves the way the car shifts. If you can live with it (vibration_, QBM strut bar conversion and an upper poly mount will help as well, but the lower mount helps w/ downshifts, etc.<p>Also, make sure that none of your shift cables have started to 'pop up' from the retainer... Pop off the stupid dummy box and pull up on the two clutch cables above your trans. If they move at all, they need to be pushed down until the 'click' - if they don't move freely, they're fine.

My shifter is a bit loose and I would like to see if this may be the problem.
