Re: Anyone resolve HID problem (jdsr917)

What do you mean by "fix"? I've had mine with no problems for about a year. Unfortunately, problems with HIDs seem to vary from car to car.

The solution is simple, buy better hids. IE ones with DSP power cleaning.
Like these
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...:1123
I've been in talks with the seller, the DSP chips are made by panasonic and there are 2 relays to keep any nasty voltage spikes out. There are very few kits with DSP chips, all the others hover around $300, and these msrp for $300.

From what i understand the ignition of the HID causes a power surge to the ECM or something and ends up blowing wiper motor and i think thats all ...

Re: (jdsr917)

It has to do with where the halogens are grounded. Apparently the passenger side ground shares the same connection with the wiper motor.

Guess we're just dealing with "you get what you pay for". These are cheap HID kits

Re: (ForceFed Motorsports)

So, what's the kit that will give absolutely no problems with our cars? I'd rather pay more for a kit that gives me no headaches but don't know which is the best.

Sharing a ground doesnt really mean much, remember the whole car is made of metal and there is almost no resistance from one end to the other. So anything that happens at one end should affect the whole thing.
A cure would be adding a diode to the wiper motor ground. Or somehow making sure the HID system doesnt surge.

Aren't the headlights powered through the ECU? ie voltage stabilizer, and how the low-beam failure warning is supposed to work?

Re: (fone)

Not likely, if i remember correctly looking at the wiring schematic they would be powered thru the CEM like most electronic accessories in the car.
