I have a self-inflicted problem. The passenger rear door was hitting the cabinets in my garage every time the kids opened the door. By the time I realized it, I had 3-4 dents in the black trim. It was hitting right on a corner edge of my cabinets.
Stealer quoted my $800, YES, $800 to replace. For that, I'll live with it. I figure it must be pretty involved replacing it, or the part costs $700! If anyone has a diagram of how the part comes off, I would really appreciate it. Here is a picture of what I am talking about: http://mysite.verizon.net/vzerowmz/

I told them the give me a price to replace that specific trim piece, $800 was the figure. Insane. I had a quote awhile back to replace the entire rear bumper face, including drilling new holes for the reverse warning ad that total cost was $600. A lot more reasonable considering that the cost of the bumper, I assume, would be considerably higher.

I'd try getting the price for the part only, then go to a body shop and get labor estimated there.
If/when you have the part(trim piece) you may be able to see how it is held there.
PS
I would also check Junk yard if too expensive from the stealer
