I'm having mine replaced at this moment. And I was told the same thing: You must replace them at 15k miles. I'm only at 12k, but when the brake warning started coming on (to keep the Check Engine light company), I took it in. Did you have your struts replaced at 6k? That was a treat. Oh, and how bout your headlights at 10k (another common occurance, apparently)?

We replaced our headlight bulb at 15k and we do use DRLs. The H7 is notorious for its shortlife. In our A4, the H7s blew at 22.5k and it doesn't have DRLs. Thinking of upgrading to Xenons using the Philips kit, but unsure of the engine bay space.

As for using up the rear brakes at 15k, you need to ask my girlfriend about that. She drives the S40

I wonder if it would be possible to get the factory Xenon S/V/40 lights from Sweden. They are really nice because they are auto self leveling units. I know that the S/V/40 SE in Europe has Xenon lights standard! I wish that they would bring them to the US.
