I am in the middle of swapping my OEM clutch with SMF (25k miles on it) from my old engine to the replacement and need a way to align the disk.

Also, is there any other adjustment needed on the pressure plate? I do see that I need to adjust the springs back to the original position, correct? Anything else?

Someone mentioned that their dealership used a broom handle as an alignment tool. It sounds like it is not necessary to be exact. Will the transmission not fit on correctly if the disk is not aligned correctly? Could it cause damage to the clutch?

I have replaced the spline in the past with the newer one and it slides in and out of the angle gear very easily so I think I am good there.

Thanks!
