Can anyone tell me how to remove the '05+ armrest covers? I've removed the torx screws, but something is still keeping it firmly attached to the plastic door flap. Do I have to find some way to remove the aluminum buttons/rings?

I wish I could help. I still can't get my locking lug nut off, and it isn't that tricky.

I am trying to find something online, but all I can find is how to remove the whole console, or the drink compartment. I found a bunch of new arm cushions, but nothing about taking it apart. Why are you taking it apart?

Re: Anyone know how to remove armrest cover? (jstro)

I did this in my S80 i remember it not wanting to come off either. I think you have to open the lid fully to its maximum then the mechanism inside lets it pop off. I might be completely off but i think there was something like that to it.

I did get the two screws in the back off, and can lift up the cover on the back just a little (big enough gap for fingers to slip under)... I'm afraid if I try to lift it off by force, it might snap something off.

Sounds like there might be some clips holding it down. I would be afraid as well.

i know this is an old thread, but i came across the same problem today. in case anyone is looking for the answer in the future, after removing the two bottom torx screws, you have to pull the inner lid up to expose the two upper torx screws. after you remove those two, the leather piece should come off easily.

Been a while, but from what I remember: After you remove the two screws near the hinge you then have to depress the release buttons on either side of the armrest so that the cover clears them, then pull the cover back. You should see two more screws between the inner plastic cover and the outer leather cover. It takes some force -- you have to flex the plastic in order to get to the screws.

Take a look at the photo of the inside of the cover in this listing and you should see where the other two are located: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Volvo-OEM-...773895&hash=item522e813ff4:g:RboAAOSw7xteQdrN
