After front Bilstein strut install, did your front end stay the same, (height)?
Mine has jumped up over an inch and it looks like an AWD.
If I can't figure out what happened, I'll have to put lowering springs on the front as it looks plain DUMB and embarrasing the way it is now

Re: Anyone installed Bilsteins on an 850 R (steve s)

I never had the drys on, had 16" snows (came with the car along with the Titans) but before the strut install gap was, I would guess maybe 1/2" to 3/4 tops.
After the front Bilstein install I now have over 1-1/2"+ gap, looks like an XC
I knew it was going to be a disaster when I saw it with snows but now with Titans it looks absolutely rediculous.
I never installed a front Bilstein before without a lowering spring so I have no other car to judge by but I would think others would have made a comment if this happened to them.
I knew the rears may put it up 1/4" but not over an INCH!
The rears already have Bilsteins on for about 4K miles and it looks nice and tucked in
I won't post a pic, I'm embarrased

JRL,
Had the same issue with my Red 850 and it took a while for it to settle in...but it never came down all the way. You'll need to put lowering springs on it...
Good luck and cheers,
Prospero

I kept claiming they were higher than before by about an inch (or more) and you wouldn't believe me. Well, now you know what I went though. Don't worry though...after a few weeks of driving, mine seemed to settle down some...but not all the way down like it was when it had the OEM boges.

I installed a set on the rear of my wagon (along with the remaining H&Rs, as I wanted to see whether progressively dampened shocks would offset the harshness you warned me about with lowering wagons -- it does, by the way), and at medium dampening it sits with a slight rake, albeit a little less than with the stock setup.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
My car seats like an AWD bid time after I installed Bisteins, upper mounts and spring seats last summer. Didn't settle down at all. I've bought the front OMP springs already, - someone was selling fronts only.. But car is perfectly level now and honestly I don't know if I want to install fronts only.

t5mmmm,
do you have any pics of your car ( ) with fronts only? I mean other that uploaded on your cardomain page? I've lost GTG pics.. I IM-ed you some time ago about it...

I guess that's why my S70s didn't drop too low and more of less matched the (stock) rear springs and Bilsteins very well. In fact my last T5 (99) really didn't have a lowered look at all, it just sat "right"

Re: Anyone installed Bilsteins on an 850 R (JRL)

I have Bilstein HD's but with EST lowering springs. I have about a 2 finger space between fender and tire. I wouldn't mind getting lower but for Bilsteins it seems to be not bad.

Re: Anyone installed Bilsteins on an 850 R (JRL)

They are 15" wheels, tires are 195/60 if I recall correct. Yeah just a tad lower, no front gap and tucked a tad in the back would be nice.
