I essentially bought the XC60 for this feature, and after a couple of days of driving, the driver's side Blind Spot light stopped working properly. It mostly just blinks steadily, sometimes just stays on. I took it back to the dealer and they upgraded the software. That seemed to make the problem worse. The passenger side works fine. I washed the sensor area as the owner manual suggests. It's back in the shop now for the second time in three days. Frankly, the driver side window rear visibility is not great in the 2010 XC60, so BLIS is a very handy feature to have. I'm curious if others have had problems, and if you have any potential solutions I can suggest to the dealer. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I have BLIS and love it. No problems like you describe.<p>Rarely, for example when I go over a speed-bump, it may blink once when there is nothing moving on that side. <p>I did try and play around with how it works by moving along the sides on my bicycle as well as moving along the sides at different heights;in my experience, it is actually amazingly accurate. I tried to fool it with a bunch of mirrors and was not able to do so.<p>Don't understand how it can be a software issue, since I'd expect there to be lots of others complaining. Sounds like maybe the sensor/camera is misaligned or not behaving correctly... <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vortexmediagroup.com/images/banghead.gif" BORDER="0">

Thanks for your thoughts about the problem. They are actually replacing the camera now. Hopefully that will fix the problem. I totally agree that it is a fantastic feature.

Great to hear that it's working. I was a little bit worry about it.<p>When I went to dealer for test drive few weeks ago, the BLIS on the passenger side was not working either. I told the salesman that I read your post and I was worry about the quality of the camera/sensor used for BLIS system.

After about one week of working fine, the BLIS system is now exhibiting the same problems. It is strictly on the driver side, the passenger side BLIS works perfectly. I will now be taking this back to the dealer for the third time, and I'm starting to lose patience. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/frown.gif" BORDER="0">

I am really sorry to hear that. I truly hope this is the last time you need to take it to dealer for this problem. Please keep posting the result.
