Looks like the exact same MAC solenoid that phuz has. Phuz's is $54.99 plus shipping. IPD's is $89.95 plus shipping. In my eyes looks like your paying the few extra bucks only for the hardware.

I am looking for a new and improved product, both Phuzz and IPd's have had issues so I am hoping that this is IPD's improved product.

The MAC valve is not appropriate for use in the R's engine compartment, as soupandspoons pointed out in the following thread:

soupandspoons said:
Tom, you should mention that he'll have to solder the leads on the MAC valve to the plug from his stock TCV if he's going to just buy the MAC valve.

According to the MAC data sheet for the 35 series valves, the operating range is 0*F to 120*F (-18*C to 50*C). I wouldn't put the valve too close to the engine/turbo, or you'll definitely be exposing it to temperatures well above that range.

MAC catalog page/data sheet available here: http://macvalves.com/Portals/97890/docs/35catalog.pdf
Both the Ingersoll Rand and MAC valves can not operate reliably in temperatures over 120 degrees F, and as we all know, the under hood temperatures get far hotter than that.

As such, the consensus based on everyone's research here on the forums is that neither the revised IPD "HD" TCV nor the phuz TCV are suitable for reliable boost control.

+1!! I've had Phuz's TCV since early this year, and I've been running it on my stock engine. No problems so far. :)

my Phuzzy TCV ran fine for like a week, then it started throwing a code and the engine started to run rough and had an idle shudder since then I have changed back to stock and no problems since. I re-installed it a couple months back and same thing happened. Let alone one hot summer one of the plastic barb kinda melted lol. Been looking for replacement metal barbs too see if that was the problem and I haven't found any locally and email phuzzy about replacements and no answer :\

GSX Todd has an HD TCV out now too... I'm not sure how it's different that the others, but I too am curious about the "new & revised" Ipd TCV.

Was he banned from this site?
Not sure... I don't ever recall seeing him on here. He's probably not a sponsor, therefore not allowed to promote his products. I've traded some emails with him about his products and he's super responsive and helpful. I'm sure I'll do business with him sooner or later.

His profile says banned.
I think he was banned cause he was saying paying sponsors products were not as good as his were. It was awhile ago.
