For that many miles, just make the drive.
I shipped a car from NY, to CA. I called around probably 5-10 companies and found one for like $800 who said they could try and pick it up within a week, so I ordered through them. WORST IDEA EVER! omg... 3 weeks later I canceled with them, called another 10-15 places, found a place that guaranteed less than 5 day pickup for an extra charge, and ordered with them, and it was worth the extra money. It was like $125 for the rush order, plus $975 C.O.D and I wish I had just gone with them first.
Queen Express Corp.
773-481-9402
But this was 3,000 miles, 500 is nothing just drive it

500 Miles you should really drive it, but personally, I had my vw shipped from Vancouver-Toronto (Equivalent to seattle to ny) for around 500USD done within 5 business days, I just dropped it off in vancouver, and picked it up in Toronto.

On http://www.vclassics.com, check the Tech Archive section - the editor of this online mag discusses using an Auto Transport broker, which saved a lot of time and $ to get the best price, and he gives some references.
Good Luck.
