Hey...just wondering if anyone has tried using a glasspack or two in their exhaust (on an R). If it would quiet it down enough, it could be a cheap/compact way to get some more of that nice 5 cyl burble.

I have two glasspacks under the driveshaft, in addition to a muffler at the rear. Keeps it pretty darn quiet, except when you're mashing the gas.
You hear lots of compressor whine as well, which is absolutely sexy.

dont go with the cherry bomb ones. the fiberglass they use burns up quickly when you get on it. i got a magnaflow straight through design, it was like 50 bucks. it sounds great. not too quiet, but not too loud at idle. when you get on it, watch out for people looking

While you're at at it how about some L sized bias plies and a couple of traction bars...

I had a 3.5" glass pack muffler and it was horrendous. Unless you are looking for the "ricer honda" sound, stay clear of these kinds of mufflers. I even had a 3" magnaflow resonator installed as a secondary because of the noise, and it was still way too loud.
