I'm wondering if it's worth trying. Anyone know anything about this?

The manifold and throttle body should be the same between the two. The Turbo would have used larger injectors and a slightly different fuel pressure regulator, but I don't know of any advantage to the manifold itself.<P>The ~300cc (LH2.2) or ~330cc (LH2.4) won't work properly with the n/a fuel system. I don't think that the 330s can even be used in place of the 300s on the Turbo without messing up the a/f ratio.<P>

Michael, thanks for the response. Didn't Rob say he was going to do this to his buddy's 242 GT yesterday? I'm trying to remember the conversation.

I'm not sure, but he did mention the 530 Turbo head that's going on the GT engine (B21F). I think they cleaned up the head a little to improve flow, so it should be an improvement over what's on the current engine (160 head, I think).<P>A b23/230 intake manifold on the B21F would probably be an improvement.<P>

George, I'm putting a B230FT head on the GT...and just gonna polish a B21 intake like the pic Michael posted. Like he said, the 740T intake is the same as yours. I put a mildly worked B230 intake onto my B230FT already. Today I worked the exhaust manifold...port matched and polished. Probably won't help, but hey, it's cool to say right? <P>Rob

Which car did you do that to? The Bertone? Let me know if you notice a difference. Yes, the 530 head is reputed to have the best flow of any of the 'small' heads. Check your head George - you may have a 530 already. My wife's NA 940 does. Of course, the Turbo 530 would have the Na filled valves (should you ever decide to go to forced induction.)<P>The intake manifold (and TB) for all LH-equipped 2/7/9 series is the same, whether turbocharged or NA.<BR><P>

The B230F got the 530 SCP head in North America. No doubt about it.<P>You can find the number on the exhaust side, above the manifold, under the oil crud, around cyl. #2. It's actually 1000530.<P>SCP means small coolant passages. Older heads (160, 398, 405) had big coolant passages which makes them less desirable because of an increased chance of cracking and an increased chance of the head gasket breaking around the coolant passage. This is mainly a factor in turbo engines.<P>
