It seems that more often then not when I put my keys in my pocket (jeans, suit, shirt) or simply hold them in my hand and walk by the car...the "panic" feature gets tripped. My wife thought I was nuts and then it started happening to her too. <P>Anyone else experience the same?

Yep, it happened to me several times when I first got the car. I've learned to be careful how I hold the remote - if the top is pressed against other keys on the ring for the magic 2 seconds, bingo. I sort of gingerly hold the remote by the edges making sure the rest of the keys are hanging down below when I exit or enter the car. Volvo needs to rethink their remote.

I ended up having both my remotes replace under warranty. It went from bad to worse...one evening it went into permanent panic mode and the only way I could drive the car home was to leave the remote at the restaurant my wife and I were dining at (couldn't figure out how to get the battery out)
