I know our S40 compared to the bmw 135i are two different cars but wondering if anyone has driven one or better yet has one?
how do they compare?
I think that is going to be my next car. for around $600 bucks you can get a tune and have around 350 whp ...nuts!!! Rear wheel drive would be fun again.

I haven't personally driven one, but have a buddy who has and have read a few reviews/articles about it and it sounds like it can be a beast. I say do it.

id like to get one when the 2010's come out ... get a used low mileage 2008 or so for a good deal
it just seems like there is so much more performance stuff you can do to it then our cars.
plus i have seen a video of one with all the same mods i have done to my car running a 11.8 in the quarter Z06 status right there... with luxury

I would love to be able to drive one. But they are way way too small. I feel that I would have to roll down the windows to put my knees out.
Even the S40's a bit on the small side, but not by much.

Re: (zerocover)

i have test drive the convertible one and when the top is closed, oh my, it is cramp inside the car. Then in the showroom, i sat on another (not convertible) and seems that the space is limited. Overall, its not for me. (only me becasue i am 5,9)

I'm 6', 6'1" on a good day and have gotten used to the fact most sports cars feel super cramped. While I am single I think I could put up with the size of the 1 series, but for a family car no way. If it were a second car then I would be ok with it.

Re: (coolin)

i sat in one on the way home from work.. the front section feels about the same as our cars... but there is like no back seat. as far as the trunk it seems to be a bigger opening which would be good for my hockey gear but about the same. but i have don't have much of a trunk with the awd and oem sub.

Re: (slowvo)

I test drove one for kicks and I didn't like it too much. (Disclaimer: I'm not a fan of the new generation of BMW design) It felt nice and "heavy" on the road, and the engine felt great. My thing with the 135 is that if I'm going to spend 50k to get one loaded, I'd rather buy a 3 series. The 3 series looks perfect with that design, whereas the 1 series looks like a 3 series got squished together.
At the 50k for a loaded 135, my money would be going to an Audi TT-S. I test drove one recently and it feels like a freaking supercar. No joke. Everything is good about the TT-S, and it looks so high end... like Audi designed the TT specifically and not "squished" an A-4 down.
My S40 will be traded in for one... hopefully sooner than later.
Can you believe that they said no when I asked to test drive the Audi R8 V10 sitting in the back of their used lot? The fact that a sales person was killed on a test drive in a Mazda MX-5 roadster about 2 years back gives you some hint about the reason.
