Anybody Install (DIY) a Roof Mount DVD Player?

Any "do-it-yourselfers" out there?

Told the wife that I would put a DVD player in our XC90. Since it has a moonroof I am wondering if that might interfere with a roof mount DVD player.

But if anybody has experience with a DIY install of an aftermarket DVD player, particularly in an XC90, I would love to hear about it.

Just remember the safety portion. The Volvo kits may be more in price, but they all pass the crash tests to ensure the components wont turn into missiles in case of a collision.

Very clean install in those pics though.

Present: 2012 Electric Silver S80 T6 Platinum, Inscription, Tech, Climate, front cam, remote start, everything except RSE. Added massage/ventilated seats from prev totaled 2010 V8 Executive below ….2009 XC90 Passion Red V8 R-Design, every option including factory hitch (and added GROM Audio GROM-MST for digital audio input via MOST ring. HIGHLY recommended). Previous: 2004 S80 2.5t AWD w/ HU-801 Dynaudio, 2007 S80 3.2 w/ Dynaudio and sport package, 2010 S80 V8 Executive, with every option except RSE, including factory rear armrest accessed fridge and one of very few 2010 S80 V8’s with sport lowered chassis from factory (RIP... Was t boned and performed amazingly). 2009 S80 V8 Executive. Sold to a neighbor looking for an V8 executive. 2011 S80 T6 loaded with every option except RSE. 2007 XC90 black V8 R-Design w everything. 2005 XC90 T6 (I don't like discussing this T6....)

Make sure you run your wires out of the way of the side curtain airbags.

Here are the instructions for the Volvo roof kit. May help a bit. XC90's come with the wiring already up there.
