Re: Any Swedespeed members in or around Orlando Fl? (Max Wells)
Max, we are just north of you, in Debary. Seems like more and more Volvo's in this area. We have an '07 S60 2.5T, and an '06 XC90 2.5T AWD that we got thru OSD. We also have a '97 850 GLT.
It's great to see the popularity grow a bit. I see about 6-8 other XC90's on a regular basis, and the same for S60's. I've seen 1 S60R in town, too. There was an S60 T5 that used to pick up a kid at the school mine were at.
I think you'll see the most Volvo's in Winter Park, and then as you travel toward Lake Mary/Heathrow area.

Soo where do u live? Im downtown, and yea about the volvo store, i may have bought the car their but...the service dept sucks ass....they give me these looks when they find out ive customized my car...and i made the mistake of tellin one of them i was going to sebring to the track for the weekend with my buddy who has a mini cooper s and they were like, "ummm ya i can void youre warentee" soo..you have pics of youre car?
Lol about The Volvo Store service. The service advisors are a bunch of old European farts. There was one tech there who actually was very good at what he did. They don't know much about R's there though. I go to an indy, Maitland Importers, close to downtown if I ever need anything. Do you happen to know them? They are a good bunch of people, who are car enthusiasts as well.
I do most of my car work myself. I'm out on the east side of Orlando, and I probably spend an equal amount of time on the westside. I'm rarely downtown. I don't have any of those online social things. I used to have it and it used to eat up my time. I'd go to one person's site, and then be like ooh, let me click this... it was neverending.
haha yea.... idk...and everytime i swear my car comes back from service with a grease stain someware...never fails. But yaaa i actully take my car to Chech Bros...just south of the volvo store off of mills. Scott, one of the top guys there used to work for my uncle whom owns Bill Ray Nissan....dont ask why i dont drive a nissan...i think we both know the answer haha...but i can demo w/e i want but yaaa chech bros does a really good job for like have the price haha....wheres this place ur talkin of?

hahaha yeaaaa....its sad...everyone on here is throwin the volvo store under the bus. I have a apt friday for my ac...it makes this...this sound like theres a plastic fan someware and its spinning loosly on a rod..idk i just hope they dont come out and make some poop up its. "not coverd" and me have a $300 bill.
And nice...My grandparents live in WP...on winter park ave.

The indy I use is http://www.maitlandimports.com/. I knew someone who used to take their 850 to Cech Bros. to get the A/C problem fixed (which is a compressor clutch problem) but all they used to do is fill it with freon everytime, and since the owner of the 850 didn't know any better, they accepted that as a fix. I didn't think it was right to take advantage like that. But they are pretty knowledgeable guys, especially with old cars.
I just talked to Ian, the main guy over there. He said that they don't have experience with that particular swap but they have done custom work before. He said it should not be a problem. IMO, compared to the things they have done to other cars that swap should be pretty easy. Tell them Victor sent you with the S60R, they should treat you well. Let me know when/if you go in for that work to be done. I might pay for the three day VIDA subscription and we can get some software changes to your car as well if you want anything.
