Hey,
The mod itch hit me, and I love the sound of the S40 under throttle, so I was checking out the stock intake and was thinking of cutting the baffles off of it to get some more noise out of it...
any problems forseeable with that? CEL, or any codes? I will be covering the area with sometihng like duct tape so all the hot air doesnt get in...

I believe oldman did this with no problems. I'll see if I can dig up what thread that was.
EDIT:
In THIS THREAD he talks about it some. I glimpsed at it and it looks like he was throwing a code that went away when he got the Typhoon.
EDIT 2:
Ah I found the original: http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=99870

Re: (sanatarium)

I took mine off about a week after I bought my car and had no problems what so ever. It wont do much of anything for you as far as sound goes though... needs to be a little more drastic of a change to get the sound to be more aggressive.

Yea... that same guy would be me. Im on here too Emil... and no Im not the only one who has an intake for the 2.4i but Im one of very few who sells it. Others have custom fab'd their own, like Jason aka Sanatarium (sp?) and I dont know who all else has made their own. My intake is a simple plug (MAF sensor) and play. Jason some how welded his own MAF adapter... I dont know how he did that, but he does a lot of metal work that most cant do themselves.
