it but would like to see someone who's done theirs. Also, is popping off the mirror cover hard? I don't want to risk cracking it. Thanks!

I have yellowish ones as well and need to replace them. If I recall, there was a site that sold that part for a pretty fair price. I forget if it was partsforvolvo.com or some other site.

Have you tried to polish them? I used PlastX and it worked just fine for me. As for removing the mirror cover, I just popped it from the top of the mirror, although I'm not sure if it's the easiest or best way to do so.

I have niteshades on my mirror turn signals. It ended up drying a lot darker than I wanted but they still look good and are still visible when on. Check out the Seattle GTG Picture thread and you can see what the mirrors look like.
And I think Kallvin (Luke) is saying the sanding down of the yellowed plastic needs to be done on the inside as well as the outside, as it isn't just the outside that yellows.

Mine are also tinted, however I had the shop that smoked my tails do it. It wasn't really a tint, rather an 80/20 clear/black paint spray. Do it.

Mine are pretty much blacked out as well and like it. Mine were getting pretty oxidized and plastic X wasnt working so figured might as well just have em done the same time as my tails.

Re: Any of you use nightshades on your mirror turn s ... (ForceFed Motorsports)

Update! Just finished and got them on the car. I think they look great! Used about 2 coats of nightshades and 3 coats clear. I'll snap some pics when the car is clean! I have yet to see how well the light appears as they are pretty dark.

And I think it came out great! I will use a little rubbing compound tomorrow to buff the clear coat for maximum shine, then I'll snap some pics. Light comes through pretty well, too.
