Just curious if any 240's (TI maybe?) came with a limited-slip differential from the factory. If so, are replacements available from the dealer?<p>Am I right in thinking that the rear axle is a Dana 30? Has anyone used a Jeep LSD in there?
Re: Any 240's have a factory limited-slip? (Splat)
To my knowledge, the limited slip was a factory option, not standard. I had/have (I have yet to check my "new" 240) a limited slip, and they really do mean limited. If one wheel loses traction, the other one just sits there, which can get annoying. I have heard of differential swaps, not sure of which ones though.
You can look at the back side of the pumpkin on the differential to see whether or not it is limited slip. There is a tag on the right rear side tward the top. The Chilton manual has the location and what the ID should look like. The limited slip diff was an option and I have old IPD catalogues that have that part instock to convert the differential to limited slip.
