I've done a search on this and tried removing the antenna as it is stuck in the up potition. When I turn on and off the radio, only the top end moves up and down like an inch or so but thats it. I've removed the "bolt" and tried pulling out the antenna but it totally won't budge. I've gone to the dealership and they said a new antenna would cost me 40 euro and I'm gussing because the top end still moves, that the motor is not the issue but that it is just a little rusty or needs cleaning.
Would some WD40 work perhaps?
Any help would be appreciated as the look with the antenna up is really annoying me.
EDIT: Anyone know where I can get an antenna motor other than the dealer?

It's dirt... try to clean it very good and then try a few times while helping to move it.

It's likely going to need a new mast. You can order them from many places for less than $40 Eu.
I've tried to save a good many of mine after sticking in one place...generally they always have a trouble spot since the gears take a beating when the antenna gets stuck.
Good luck!
Cheers,
Prospero

Clean it throughly with metal polish THEN liberally apply whatever kind of automotive grease you have handy.
Naturally a silicone grease would be better but anything should work.
If and when it goes down, then wipe off the excess grease, apply the correct grease when you get it.
I just did a completely stuck one today, now works as new

Re: Antenna Really Stuck!!! (JRL)

Thanks for the replies everyone
Where do I apply the grease? To the actual antenna? I can't imagine that helping as it doesn't budge at all and it doesn't seem like any grease would get underneath to where it's actually stuck. Does the radio need to be on or off for this?

Mine used to get stuck during the winter. I just pushed the radio off button, got out, and rammed the sucker back in.
I apply WD40 to it every couple of months. I've had no problems.

Re: (C70drvr)

F it, it totally won't budge and I don't think yanking it out with brute force is something I wanna risk. I've made an appointment at the dealer to have it replaced along with new headlight glass (there's a crack in the left one, which is why i considered those HOVA lights but I'm totally put off now by those pictures posted in the other thread) and install the antenna swtich as well.
Also going to have the rear a and front fenders sanded and paintedas there are pretty nasty paint chips and dents on those.
She's gonna end up looking brand new!

If you're going to get a new antenna, might as well try forcing the one that won't go down. You've got nothing to loose.

Re: (C70drvr)

I've already pushed and pulled as hard as I'm willing to go without damaging the actual antenna motor, I'm just gonna leave it be for now. Also ordered a few other goodies from the dealership

Okay, turns out I need a new antenna motor but my dealer wants to charge me 220 euro for it. Any ideas where I can get one for cheaper?
