I got the USA Spec iPod adaptor for x-mas from crutchfield for the aux input for xm radio (i don't own an ipod) and the install went well. No motor noise and everthing works as expected except for the forward and rewind and change tracks buttons on the stereo while listining to a cd. The buttons sometimes work and other times they take 3 - 4 pushes to get them to work. An example is when I push the fast forward on the 3 - 4 try it will fast forward and when I release the button it will continue to fast forward for a couple of seconds.
Has any one else had this problem??

Re: Another USA Spec iPod adaptor problem (YZ 212)

I have the same issue, but I barely ever listen to CD's on my hu-801, so I could care less. This has been briefly discussed here before.
I love my xm, and the fact it's always random music. Never got the ipod fever thing.
Tim
edit: Maybe the cd player now has 3-4 fast forward speeds, and when you hit it the 3rd or 4th time, it changes tracks.
Good luck.

You're using the built in CD-changer I assume? I haven't had that problem.
-A
Well at least I'm not the only one having the issue. I don't listen to cd's to much any more either but when I do it does bug me. I may try to unplug the usaspec and see if it returns to normal. If so I think the usaspec may need to be replaced. Oh well nothing with volvo seems to be easy.

Re: Another USA Spec iPod adaptor problem (YZ 212)

Very interesting! I just (last week) had their 6-disk CD Changer installed and I have this problem with my steering wheel controls. I thought it was in my head! Sometimes they work on the first try and sometimes it takes 3 or 4.
Is this a problem with all USA Spec products?

You need to hold the button down for a few seconds before it takes affect. It confused me the first few times as well. It should work the first time you press FF or REW.

Re: Another USA Spec iPod adaptor problem (mani)

i just have installed my PA11-HON with the CDL-VOL cable
in my 1999 volvo v70 with a sc-805 radio. The cd-charger can play all the
playlists and the i can switch the tracks and so on, but there's no sound
coming out and i have no idea why. Tuner and cd works fine. Can you please
help me? I also tried the AUX AUDIO INPUT mode by switching #2 off and used
a aux-cable with a music device and pressed disc nr. 6 but nothing came out
of the boxes. It only makes beep-beep-beep when i pluged the ipod. I tried 2
diffrend ipod's (nano and G5 with video).
You may have a bad interface or bad cables.. make sure the wires (power and ignition are making good contact) and that the CDL-VOL cable is firmly connected on both ends. i think someone else on there had a similar issue.
