Another tired and played out question

572 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  MagoonR
After my installation of wheel spacers, I noticed that the drivers side rear stance was higher than my passenger side. WTF?

I literally went through the entire R section on this forum (archived), trying to find out what this nonsense was about.

I've searched under "springs" and finally decided to go with a set of Eibachs. I'm choosing to lower my R mainly because I can't stand looking at my R's ass sticking that high in the air. Fronts are pretty low already.

My question and research is this:

A) Once the R changes to lowered spring, get it aligned.
B) Let it settle (one month) and go to dealer for SUM, with lights ON.

Now the question:

A) Since my car is currently sitting higher on the drivers side rear, once I have aprings swapped out to Eibach's, will it still have that higher stance?
B) I cannot find the "how to" portion of swaping it out. I know it's not going to be as easy as any cars, because the 4C is involved.
C) And why is one side higher than the other in the first place?

Thanks, as always SS.

Re: Another tired and played out question (seorule)

Most all R's are higher on one side than the other.
Re: Another tired and played out question (Needsdecaf)

Just figuring that one out myself.

I did read a started from moddeR and his vehicle set up. Freaking sweet!

Are there any solutions to that specific one side being higher?

As far as swapping out the springs, I have a buddy that works at BMW who will doing the swapping for me.

I think some BMW models have something similar to the 4C? If that is the case (mostly trying to locate the wire that runs from vehcile to suspension area), he should not have too much complications swapping it out.

He's a good man. A bottle of Patron will suffice.

Obviously........your passengers have a heavier arse than you do which has caused the car to squat on the passenger side.
