I made this part with fiber. The size and everything is exact.
I made a mould from the original part.
But because of fiber is not elastic,it is not possible the install it to the rear apron.
I am working on it.
Do you have any other ideas how to make an exhaust out the original sport kit?

Re: ANOTHER PROJECT STARTED!!!RIGHT SIDE EXHAUST OUTS. (xenophobic)

Just to clarify, do you mean that you are making a 2nd exhuast port out the rear bumper to accomodate a dual exhaust?
So far it looks great. Perhaps carbon fiber or just the normal polyurethane used on the regular bumper would work. Another option (it may look tacky though, and would need to be replicated on the other side) would be to add metal/chrome plating to the piece.

Actually, now that I think about it more, the metal plating, if done on the inside only wouldn't look that bad. It would need a bit of insulation though to keep the metal from getting too hot as well.

QUOTE=mike_c70]speechless.... What did you use to make a mold of the part? [/QUOTE]
I used fiberglass itself.
I coated the whole plastic part with fiber. Before that I covered the plastic part with some stretch film and etc.to prevent the fiber sticking on it.
Then after that I easily seperated the mould from the original part.
I shaved the edges and made the surface good. After this I again sticked the moulds together and covered the both inner and outer surface with fiber to have a good quality surface.
The result is not perfect, but seems enough

How about designing a whole new body/aero kit while you are at it?

Re: ANOTHER PROJECT STARTED!!!RIGHT SIDE EXHAUST OUTS. (Kirb)

Actually, going along with Kirb's post, and if you have any spare time left over, another great project might be to come up with some other design for the front little splitters of the aero kit. I know that everyone hates their low clearance and but feels that without them the sport body kit looks odd on the rest of the car. just a suggestion for a future project. Keep up the amazing work!!

Re: ANOTHER PROJECT STARTED!!!RIGHT SIDE EXHAUST OUTS. (xenophobic)

Nice job! I was actually going to do this myself as well in 3D intially. I was going to 3D scan the drivers side exhaust port and resurface it to .001 of the orginal. And once surfaced mirror the geometry to the passenger's side to be exact. The only thing though is that I could not get a hold of a 3D scanner. Those things are like 10 grand plus. I know how to class "A" and work in the auto industry. So my biggest obstacle was getting a 3D scanner, and once done, find a place that would make it for me. At the time when I was looking into this, I was working at G.M., so the UAW and upper G.M. mangement would frown on it. They already did not like me when I bought my Volvo instead of one of their products. I know better not buy from G.M. Now I work at a software company that makes the design software, so what I drive is not an issue anymore. Nice job Xenophobic, don't forget to incorporate the tabs, so the part can be mounted to the rear fascia.
P.S. If someone out there can get a hold of a 3D scanner and scan in the driver's side and send me the scan data. I can re-surface it and make the passengers side. I would send back the data (.Iges or any other CAD format )and only ask, if I could have 2 duplicates be made for myself for the trouble of surfacing. Anyway food for thought if one of you out there want to partner up with me and make this happen. LOL, hey we can make a side business doing R after market parts!
