heyhey...

I'm looking for some new 18" rims for my v50... stumbled over those on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.de/18-RSGT-SS-...wItem

do you think they will fit? heard something that the rims from a focus ST are similar to those on a S40/V50...?!

would be a great deal, about 800 euros with tires...

thanks for feedback!

they're 5x108, which is what you need, but the offset is a little different than the 52.5mm of my medusas (7.5" wide). run them through a tire/wheel size calculator and see what you think.

how flush they are with the side of your car...
Re: (crossie)

You might run into trouble with et

What's the width and offset on the wheels you're looking to buy?

ah, okay... well, no problems with that I think... there's lots of room until the rims stick out of the fenders...

offset is ET45 - and tires are the one mentioned in the ebay auction: 225/40

If it's 18x8 or 18x7.5 a +45 et will be fine. http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Meh i wouldnt worry about the offset... i ordered a set of advans 7.5" wide with a 35mm offset and with the calculator shouldnt rub at all. Makes almost no difference on the inside of the wheel but will be close on the outside clearing the fender when im tucking tire

Re: another 18" rim question (ForceFed Motorsports)

Decreasing the offset moves the contact patch outward, which increases torque steer, affects cornering, and can increase stress on hubs and wheel bearings. Adding a spacer has a similar effect, btw.

IMO, 45mm is fine, especially for wider rubber, but 35mm is really pushing it.

With a 7.5 rim with a 35 offset, ur gonna have to run something like a 195 tire to keep it from rubbing

Re: another 18" rim question (chrisasdf)

?? a 35mm offset will move the tire about 20mm outward - reducing the chance of rubbing. At the risk of increasing the other things I mentioned above of course.

Re: another 18" rim question (tmtalpey)

thanks for all your feedback...

would have ordered the rims, but the german bureaucracy... I need an ABE or something similar to run them on my car here in germany.

so, I contacted the manufacturer (who is australian, btw) and asked... wish me luck, guys! I really want those rims! http://********************/smile/emthup.gif

Re: another 18" rim question (tmtalpey)

Outward correct. That means that the outer fender will come into play. A fender rolling or a smaller tire will be needed if he doesnt want rubbing there..

I hope the best for you crossie. Sorry to jack ur thread btw

Thats where camber comes into play a bit which will tuck the wheel up under the fender hopefully... otherwise im not stranger to the baseball bat and heat gun

To get the concave look had to go low offset lol.
