Interesting yeah that would be annoying.
but I swear that for me the my car button took me to the mycar screen 100% of the time. I only ever used the radio from the OEM interface though.
I’m keeping 2.0.6 for now. Need to check next time I drive if the Fahrenheit bug with the temp display was fixed.
Unfortunately I am still getting all temps in what appear to be incorrect C conversions of F (72 F shows up as 17 C).

I tried 2.06 in my xc60… seemed to mess up my Celsius display in a similar fashion to my Fahrenheit, and now I don’t see the setting to switch from C to F - that said everything important still seems to be working and I don’t have any time to mess with it at the moment so I will continue to live with it as is.

Hi question for all S80 users - do you have working PDC visualisation and working support steering wheel lines in aftermarket camera view?
go into the settings menu for the CarPlay/Android Auto box, and go to common settings (the first option)> camera > and toggle OE camera. I think the predictive lines come on automatically but the option to toggle is below what you’ve just selected. Reboot the unit and it will work when you select reverse.

i’m asking them to fix it from 2 years.

In today's news, I purchased the USB converter. Look forward to it in a month.

In other previous news, I was messing around trying to get a ground cable set up last weekend and blew my ICM. Like totally blew it up. I purchased and reinstalled a new one, verified it worked, and then installed the CarPlay daughterboard over to the new ICM with no issues... all of it, thankfully, was not a difficult affair, just annoying as hell, as I had to redo everything.

Mine hasn't shipped yet, not going to lie, if it provides the improvement that was mentioned earlier with regards to engine whine and volume, I'll be incredibly happy.

I saw your reply in the other thread and wondered how it blew up. Nice to hear that the repair was fairly straightforward.

I attached a lead to the CarPlay case and tried a grounding point on the floor and it seemed to drop some of the noise. I turned the car off, but when I released the grounding point, the screen on the ICM went totally white but did not fade away and did not turn off even after locking the door. I unplugged the CarPlay box power, but the ICM still did not power down. I then plugged the power back in… and then a big thud went through the speakers. The ICM never came back on.

Man.. I sure hope that my suggestions of grounding the carplay unit was not the direct result to your blown ICM .. It is strange that things didn't go wonky until you removed the grounding point .. I'm glad you got back up and runnign relativly quickly, but perhaps this should serve as a warning to others who may want to run a ground that this is a possibility.. I'll take a picture of my ground setup that's working for me to use as refrence

It was, but I don't blame you, this is the game we play. I have worked in electronics for decades (doing computer builds and headphone/amp work) and don't believe I've ever shorted something, so it was dumb luck.

Lesson learned here: Remove the power harness from the CarPlay unit before adding or removing the ground. Since the unit is on, on even with the ignition off, I think that's where things went south.

$45 for an LKQ-sourced ICM and two hours of my time today was the total cost burden. Not bad, I'd say. I didn't even have to break the MOST Security... it just works!

Here's the kicker... the new ICM is a different model number… I believe from a 2012 T5. HOWEVER, it is MUCH faster than my old one. It will boot up instantly and have me in CarPlay in ~5 seconds, faster than my original one would even take to get up and through the Volvo splash screen. There must have been an upgrade to the internals of the ICM during the 2012 year to speed it up.

Glad this wasn't worse. My ICM experience was awful.

Personally, you probably could have gotten away doing the same and, at worst, paying the $25 to unlock MOST security through VDASH. The ICM doesn’t seem to be as locked to a specific vehicle as people would make you believe.

(after spending the $4k+ on tire, wheel and suspension repairs the past couple of years, this was a good “break” for me)

Yeah going in I had no idea if it was the ICM or some part of the network given the Christmas lights VIDA was giving me. Happy this worked out!

TLDR: I installed the KSmart USB audio converter which hijacks the iPod interface instead of hijacking the Aux and it provides dramatically better audio and completely eliminates the electrical whine noise
Seller has not yet shipped mine, but did message me this...

"please note that the AUX-USB device is only for AUX sound, not for carplay"

Interesting, since I ordered the same unit as @WagonBoiz hopefully there won't be any issues though.

Yeah they sent me the same message when I ordered it. They probably do anytime they see that item get ordered without the whole box.
