i had an idea for the S button. i find it a little annoying and distracting to change to the sport mode because the button is all the way down near the transmission leaver area. well, theres an unused button area above the track and volume change buttons on the steering wheel here: so why not put the button there so its MUCH easier to change it at will and you dont even have to take a hand off the steering wheel to do it! so i was wondering how hard this is to do or has anyone even done it already?

Also the button has a very dim LED. During the day is difficult to tell if it is on or off.
The new BMW 3 series works like this: D is D, move the stick left to manual shifts and it sets to S (The digital D on the gages changes to S), start changing the gears manually by push or pulling the stick and it sets to manual. It is very clear with no need for an additional button.

You'd need a switch module for that side that has the phone controls.....

I have actually thought a few times that would have been a great place to put button to change the audio function (CD/AM/FM). Better than looking down and trying to turn the knob to do that on the Beltway......

I don't undersand why more audio controls weren't included on the wheel, either.
