I've seen that most people just tap into the rear speakers for their signal.
Is it possible to tap into the FACTORY (pre-run) wiring for the FACTORY subwoofer???

http://vccs.volvocars.se/acces...en-GB

Re: AMP install. Has anyone been able to.... (Percy311)

Hmmm, you would have to check a wiring diagram as to what wires are in that harness. Ive installed this before and its quite the bundle of junk a lot of which is just a splice for the fiber optic cables, which i doubt you can tap into lol.

I was contemplating trying to do this also. I have heard someone who has done this on a another forum. He said that you can adjust the aftermarket subwoofer from the stock receiver, which is really cool Heres the some pics i took
Heres the amp with cover removed:

You can see the red and black wires running to the actual subwoofer here. This is where you would tap the lines
Good luck

I think that would require the OEM sub to be installed first. The sub amp is run off of the fiber optic signal from the car's MOST system. There is no wiring for the sub from the standard amp.

Once you install the factory sub amp, instead of running the wire to the factory sub, run it to a high->low line level converter than into any amp you choose.

Re: (mattdoc)

The stereo shop that did my sub/amp install only hooked it up to the rear-right speaker, and I wanted stereo to the amp, so they looked at it yesterday. After an hour and a half of swapping which wires the amp was connected to, they came to a conclusion: Volvos aren't nice to work on.
The installer said it was connected to both sides, but after moving it around a bit he noticed that he could get either left or right, but when he hooked both up, something seemed to choose which one would work. I didn't see where the amp was because it was back together once I got there, but he said it's right behind where they mounted my amp. He said the speaker lines are easy to pick out because they're the ones in twisted pairs of wire.
Here's a pic of where my amp is, supposedly the factory (premium sound) amp is right behind it, and he had to remove the JL amp to get at it.
