Mine came on my car. Thank God! As much as I worry about spilling java on the radio, they're so much better than the console cupholders.
That is, until I get my mug from Kelly!
yeah, I DEFINITELY have one. I don't even use the console cupholders anymore . . . I removed them and find the storage bin underneath to be very useful.
I find the in-dash cupholder to be especially useful in manual vehicles.
I don't have that one. I even talked w/ Volvo of OKC Parts Dept. and they were clueless. So instead of mounting the cupholder there I mounted my remote radar detector dsisplay there. And that worked out quite nicely.
I got one just to clean up the dash, I found the hole quite out of place. Only took about 10min to change, don't know how that part would be different in an 05.
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=20381
I've got one, installed it myself in a few minutes, there is an ancient thread here about how to do it
had an XC70 loaner recently that just had the hole, and I really missed the dash cupholder--the location of the cupholders in the console is just an awkward reach for me
The 2004 piece is entirely different because the entire upper left corner slips in and out. In the '05, there's a brushed metal surround on the dash so it's a pop-in piece that only replaces the "hole" itself. All of the instructions I've seen are very complicated but I have to believe there's an easier way.
-Eric
I think the one thing our cars lack is storage space, or cubby spots. I use mine for a variety of things from wallet to business cards to receipts, etc. I drove a Dodge Durango the other day and that thing had cubby holes everywhere. I was looking for stuff to store in the storage areas.
