I hope I don't get flamed for this, but do you guys know where I can find brushed aluminum mirror caps? I know that Heico and a few others, including Volvo sell chrome-look caps, but I am hoping for aluminum ones. I am going to buy a Sonic Blue V70 R and have the aluminum Eurorails installed. With the silver-bright alloys and Eurorails, I think the aluminum caps would look great. Thoughts? Suggestions? Thanks in advance!
PS I look forward to being able to hang with you all in here!

Just buy the chromed ones from Volvo and use a fine grit sand paper to get an aluminum look finish. There was someone who did this and posted pics and a "how to" about it, perhaps someone kind find the old post

A bunch of us have done aluminum-look mirror covers on the R. Personally, I think it looks awesome. All you need to do is buy the chrome Volvo covers and patiently wet sand them to take the high shine off of the chrome. Its a nice and easy evening or weekend project.
-Eric

For some reason, I can't post links to the pics. Chris had a thread going a while back, but the photo links are broken. Check the gallery here:
http://www.swedespeed.com/gall...eels#

If bling is your thing, why stop at the mirrors? Get the door handles as well...

Original Chrome Trim on R Thread

Personally, I think the door handles are a bit much - chromed, brushed or otherwise. They should be body color
-Eric

Pickup a set from John @ Boston Volvo and do this:

As Eric mentioned - its an evening or weekend project - shouldn't take more than 15mins to 30mins. Try to keep the sandpaper cuts in the same direction. I don't think there is any need to spray a coat of clear, they've held up fine for the past couple of months.
