just need to clean the codes. no other problems really. the network noticed lack of the control module online and stored the codes. you'd need a vida/dice setup to do that.

 

Thanks. I wish i would have not moved the car when i did. i didn't really have to move it. Now its a trip to my mechanic.

 

Moving it had nothing to do with it
You have to disconnect the battery before unplugging seat stuff
Only a Volvo dealer can clear the light, (or someone with VIDA-DICE, so right now you do not have functioning airbags

 

I have learned an important lesson here. Would this also be true for unplugging other components in the car, ABS modules and Electronic control modules, airbags and such?

 

Some, yes. What's weird is the climate control has some airbag controls in it so if you unplug that you will get the same SRS code.

In the past it was always viewed as wise to disconnect the battery before working on anything electrical to keep you from blowing fuses or shorting something, but not many people did. Now, these cars are so computerized it's always a good idea to disconnect the battery and let it sit for a few minutes before you unplug anything.

The rear view mirror is another one, I think you'll jack up your immobilizer if you unplug that with the battery on.

 

Letting it sit is a misnomer, you can work on it in 30 seconds, but I agree with the rest
If you don't know, unplug!
