Our 2008 C70 air conditioning blows super cold until turning a corner or accelerating. It comes back on after turning it off for a minute or two.
Does anyone know what if anything needs fixing or replacing?

The A/C clutch is starting to get larger gap that is out of spec, making it disengage as it gets warmer. A cheap easy fix is to remove one of the shims on the A/C compressor clutch. An expensive easy fix is to replace the A/C compressor.

At WOT or high boost, the AC clutch disengages to maximize engine performance.

As stated, sounds like your clutch gap is beyond the limits and it is becoming difficult to reengage when hot.
No point in replacing the compressor when the compressor is still good. Volvo sells shim kits, but you probably just need to remove the shims that are in there.

Same thing here. Quoted over $1000 for a new compressor. Thanks to this forum I was made aware of the clutch gap problem. Found a Volvo only repair shop and for well less than $50 it was fixed and has been working for two years without fail. This site is unbelievable for understanding our strange but wonderful cars.
