Not quite sure how to describe this one.
I can't remember if my car did this before, becuase I'm usually listening to music at loud volumes.
When I accelerate hard, I'm hearing a wind noise like the the AC fan getting turned up. I turn the AC off, and it still does it.
It actually sounds kind of cool. Makes it sound like my car is breathing. I just didn't know if it's anything I should worry about or not. All systems seem normal otherwise. I'm going in to the dealer next week and debating whether I should tell them about it or not.

Re: Air blowing sound at open throttle (frankhoffy)

Frank, there is a rubber boot along the drive shaft under the drivers side dash. It's the seal in the fire wall. You can hear the wind noise form the turbo when that pops out or comes loose. Take a look...it's a 5 minute fix. Just pop it back in.

I mean the steering wheel shaft inside the cabin under the dash...if that clear's it up for you.

Mine came off when they installed the front sway bars. Kind of sounds like one of the windows are cracked open and you only hear it between 3500rpm thru the shift point. I also got a bad fume.
The only other guess would be a crack turbo intake pipe...I've had that too. That's only a problem for us folks that have the custom painted pipes, but that is easily identified in 2 seconds by poping the hood and seeing the oil all over the top of your engine.
The boot is common in Franks case because he has everything Evolve has to offer...which means someones removed the boot and lowered the sub frame when they put the new sway bars in...
or...Franks got to much bass and the thing has rattle its way loose...surprise you can even hear it Frank.

Re: Air blowing sound at open throttle (KillerB)

I'm pretty sure my bass knocked something loose, because I have a rattle that I need to take care of too.
As long as it's not blowing carbon monoxide into the cabin, I might keep this "mod". It sounds cool. I'll have them look at it though anyway just to make sure I'm not losing power or slowing asphyxiating.
By the way, I never installed the sways. They've been lying around the house for almost a year. They're going in next week.
