Re: Air Bag Cutoff Switch (Oldman)

probably it is possible to add the shutdown functionality.
From what i saw the last time i had the glove box compartment and surrounding areas off there is a cable comming from the deepness of the dashboard and it connects to the one comming from the airbag. so i think you can add that side panel with the cut off switch is just a matter of connecting cables.
Better yet, talk to Parts @ Boston Volvo (John) here and ask him this. He's a nice guy and helped me alot when i needed help, even if you don't want to buy any parts.
Cheers

Re: Air Bag Cutoff Switch (cmy4x4)

the cut off switch is necessary if you want to use a baby seat, as the seat creates pressure and "activates" the airbag.
All european s40/v50 have the weight sensor and some have the cutoff swith (option).
Mine doesn't because i have no use for it.
Anyway, the question is valid and if i'm not mistaken it's possible to add that functionality.

Cheers
