question; why do R owners get all bent out of shape when they do all these mods on their cars and then bring it to the dealer with problems usually caused by their mods... then they trash the dealer on ss

The majority of them are not familliar with the R and cannot be bothered with trying to fault trace any problem that is outside of the normal P2 chassis set of issues. Like...yeah, the brakes normally squeak like that.
When they see a mod, they now have the justifcation not to do work. Which is a ****ty attitude. Trying to tell me that the heico door locks on my car somehow affects how the 4C works is a load of BS. It's not protecting Volvo, it's being lazy. But the majority of us are too educated to be blinded by their BS storm, and we don't like it.
If it was such an issue with bad aftermarket products, why does the Volvo dealer up the street from me heavily promote Evolve aftermarket products with full warranty (ECU mods "probably" excluded)? Why do foreign Volvo dealers work around the problem and give the guys no hassle? This dealer sells Evolve lowering springs for the R and the S40 / V50, and with no warranty issues, including 4C. Why should RKelly get busted for having TME's on his car, which offer a less extreme drop? It doesn't make sense, because it's a load of crap.
Most of us are not doing "all these mods" and then getting shafted by the dealer and crying about it. The majority of us have a few mods and are not related to the problems we bring the cars in for. The dealers are simply too lazy to do this work. I don't know why, perhaps the process for getting refunded by VCNA is tedious, but fow whatever reason, the dealers don't want to deal with it.
Next they're going to try to tell us that aftermarket wheels are too heavy and somehow affecting the 4C sensors. As they sell their own 18" wheels at full price.
It's just BS, that's all. It's not like we're briging in the AtSpeed car and asking them to fix it.
I know a GM dealer that does work on my buddy's Hummer. He brings it in for stuff that he broke while driving it (like snapping off the mirror on a tree) and they fix it under warranty. That's great for him, but it's certainly doing GM no favors. And it's just as BS as what the Volvo dealers do to us.
In a nutshell, most Volvo dealers aren't used to dealing with people who are as anal and educated about their cars as the R owners, and they don't know how to deal with them. I hope this is changing with the S40 / V50 crowd.

You think the warranty is going to cover "your wife hitting the curb" and damaging the wheel and fender, or is there something else wrong.
