Has anyone had an aftermarket stereo put in their S40's?
I have the basic audio package in my 2.4i (had no choice in options since I got a smoking deal on the car), but my wife and I both love to listen to music in the car. Our other car has a great surround sound system, which is now only being used to play kids nursery rhyme cd's for my daughter.
I asked at our local dealership about upgrading to the premium system through Volvo, and they said to me that it would be better to go through an aftermarket specialist instead.
I have already used a specialist in our area (strangely enough called The Specialist...go figure!) to add some tweeters to the back doors, and was told by my local Volvo dealer to use them for any aftermarket stuff.
My question is...has anyone gone down this route to upgrade their system?
What were the results?
What equipment was used?
Where was it placed?
Did it interfere with the current display, showing car settings, etc?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Plus, this would allow me to attach my iPod to the stereo, and not have to wait for Volvo to get off their a$$e$ about it.
Thanks
