WTF? I've seen everyones pictures here, Mine is apparently not really removable. It is welded to another piece and that other piece is welded to the exhaust.

That sounds weird. Are you sure you are looking at the correct bracket?
Oh wait I know what you have, you have the JARMO mod.
http://forums.swedespeed.com/z...age=2

you mean the joke that he 'likes' his exhaust bracket and is unconcerned that it will destroy his exhaust.

Sounds like you have the original "anti rain squeal bracket".
Instead of just a strap, do you have mounting ears welded on, which are connected to a strap that goes around the exhaust (bolted on actually)?
You should be able to unbolt the whole mess, if so.
New rain squeal bracket (might work, won't hurt your car):

Now this one, on the other hand, is bad:
The one on page 2 of the PDF below.
http://www.v70xc.com/resources...e.pdf

The one in the visible pic is ok (although actual rain squeal results may vary).

Both the original "strap of death" and the hangers attached to it hang low and can be snagged.
The new bracket, shown in the picture, does away with the "strap of death" instead bolting the two mounts directly in the position occupied by the old strap. In that way, they do not hang down, they are flush with the rest of the bottom of the car.

Re: FV-QR (Needsdecaf)

Apparently I have the original rain squeal fix (which I did get a long time ago). I have both the bracket strap, and the rubber hangers/bars. But it does not seem lower than the front muffler just in front of it.

Re: FV-QR (iamnotmad)

Yank all that crap off and remove your resonator, problem solved.
