Not long had my straight pipe installed and I noticed that when I pressed the "Advanced Button" it sound like it opened a valve and it went a little louder and I'm sure it pops and backfires more...

Press the comfort button and when a little quieter.

I know the Advanced button has better throttle response but what actually does it do? Open throttle body a little more...

Pretty sure all timing is different (advanced) to improve response. It's definitely beyond just throttle response and suspension changes.

I know that the only performance differences are obtained when you get a tune that can has different maps for the buttons. For instance in my caR when I have it in Comfort/Sport its like a stage 1.5 tune. But when in Advanced it's balls out stage 2. On a stock R, it just changes the throttle pedal sensitivity, faster shifts for autos and maybe a idle timing change for quick turbo spool perhaps
