So as my car was towed to the dealer, 400+ miles away. I felt I needed to add a new R to the Family.<p>She is Great. Hopped up in almost every way. +1 gear on the Block, Ported, Jetted, Tuned, Race Exhaust, HiFlow Pipes, Suspension and a Vapor Computer.<p><br>Here she is Yamaha 660R<br> <IMG SRC="http://sparklight.org/SNC00136.jpg" BORDER="0"> <p>But really I miss my sR, She turns wayyyy Better.

So wait you got rid of your R...? why 400 miles away..?<p>NICE!!!! i got a polaris sportsman 400 its no race 4 wheeeler but damn do she HULA ASS! so you do any thing crazy on her yet..?

No I still own the R just she would not start, among other issues, and the closest dealer is Omaha NE 400 miles away. poop I have only owned it for like 20 days and now its gone for who knows how long.<p>So far I am just behaving mainly, getting used to the raw power, but I have gotten a few 2nd gear wheelies in so far. But I am now looking at adding a Turbo... I am thinking I am going to just buy a cheap turbo from a dismantler, I found a R turbo for 300 and I think it would work... But I am no Turbo Master so I am going to see what the people over at the Raptor forums say first.<p>I was originally going to get a 4x4 but my buddy needed to get rid of it so I bought the Raptor plus a whole spare rolling chassis(Just missing a motor) and 3 sets of rims and tires.

But I am no Turbo Master so I am going to see what the people over at the Raptor forums say first.<p>.</TD></TR></TABLE>\<br>I have a LPT (Light pressure turbo) at work off a 2.4t 2002 i think. the tech i got it from had a blow motor (Over heated Inchurnce payed to full motor job new turbo) but the turbo was acting fine befor we removed it and it "LOOKS" ok the shaft is good the impellers are not damaged just need to be cleaned up

I have absolutely no idea why someone from SD would have a Volvo,<br> much less an R.<br>There is no one to work on these for (at least) <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/eek.gif" BORDER="0"> 500 miles

Volvo Kid, are you interested in parting with the turbo???<br>A buddy out here has a full shop with a Mandrel bender, I was just over there looking at bending up a frame for a road car i am thinking of building, Like Jay Leno's Ariel Atom, with my old 3.2l SHO motor. I am sure he could bend tubing tight enough to build a Turbo Header.<p>But really with the Turbo would I just Pipe it to one exhaust port or both? I mean she snaps the exhaust, I mean the pressure coming out is nuts. I put my hand over it to see about oil blow by and the air pressure was slapping my hand as it idled. So I am not sure what that will do to a turbo. I know its done all the time but its like a $3200 kit and I have half the kit already Plus I Just ordered CP heads and a crank, and looking for a HotRodz(?) cam, awaiting input for raptor owners.<p>JRL Why do I own a R in SD? Because I love it. To me the R tops most cars out there BMW, MB(Except E class AMG), Audi and a few others. <p>As for the Dealer, The service department has been nothing but the Best. They deal with other dealers mistakes(Large ones at that), They Loan me a loaner or pickup the R if it drives and leave me with a loaner. The only thing so far that has been a hiccup is my new 06 with a 04 bumper and some other minor issues that they said they would take care of.<p>So in the end 500 miles is a drop in the bucket compared to other dealers. I have dealt with Ford, Dodge, and Subi all out here with friends cars and they are horrible. Plus knowing that there are at most 3 R's in the state makes it super Rare. StormChasing and some Silver R in Sioux Falls(70m away).<p><br>

VolvoKid That is gonna be sweet. Do they make conversion Kits?<p>Last night a buddy just finished his RX7 Swap with a LS1 + 6speed. That Sucker HULLS like no other at ~2500 pounds He is adding a new rear end cage so he can stop the axle slap but i am now itching even more to build a Street car.<p>We had a nice little Bon Fire with two integras Supercharged, Talon Tsi, RX7 LS1, a Pimp Tundra and of course a few extra quads. Man what a night. The poor road and grass need to be fixed... hehe<p>But as for the Quad I just grabbed a header set from a buddy so I can just cut that and add the turbo in there and I am looking at a small intercooler to mount on board so where but its all going to have to wait till after sturgis, I have to film some bike runs and some bar scenes to put together a promo video... Its gonna be a fun 10 days, I just wish I had the R out there for some of the roads...
