More dangerous with a soldering iron than paint. Not sure if nature or man likes symmetry.
A few point before the comments:
Yes I have driven on the Autobahn.
If this is Illegal I'm with Dickens "The law is a ass"
WHY? I like it. Did you just plug another bulb into the other side? Was there any modifications needed?

No spray paint! Wired it across from the real bulb. I had to cut a small hole in the tail light. Then vacumned out the chips. Used same bulb #. No error codes
What no AD Hominem?

Re: (CURT)

Maybe we should modify those lights to flicker like strobe lights. That would realy freak out any tailgater. Or if you were driving backwards you could pull people over like the po-po!

I have it too on my C70, I like it a lot more. A lot of new cars have them standard too btw... (including Volvo's in the past).

Does that say "JRL" on the lic plate? If so, I bet it is a grumpy plate.

Nice! A 2nd foglight definitely isn't illegal - '02+ Audis have two; our Allroad has them both at least...

On my '04, I simply removed a small plastic tab covering the right "fog light" socket, inserted a bulb and *viola* two rear fogs. No wiring necessary.
It really does look cool when they are on (when needed, of course). My wife was following me the other day and confirmed that they are indeed "very obnoxious" when lit. Mission accomplished (for tailgaters that is - not my wife)...
- Tryg

MY05's taillights are jeweled and in the passenger side tail light instead of a plastic tab like in the MY04's there is a silverish ball to simulate the look of a bulb.

I did the same thing, except the computer was just reprogrammed. I only use these when I have a tailgater. One time, a chick flashed her uber BRIGHT lights. I was like.... hi! lol

Sorry, a second fog light is a horribly bad idea from a safety perspective. The reason for a single one is well documented (check Folsom's insurance research for details.)
The reason for a single fog light on the driver's side (and this is the reason why many Euro cars come here with a blank on the passenger side because they are sold in countries with left side drive) is because it has been proven that when a car comes up behind you and you are parked off to the side of the road the driver tends to pull to the dominant drive side.)
As further proof of the lunacy of two fog lights I present the sad case of General Motors. They didn't do their homework (gee what a surprise) and when they decided to introduce rear fog lights in the now departed Olds Aurora they figured they would one-up the Europeans and put them on BOTH SIDES

Re: (rollie)

I do wish more car makers would offer the left-only parking light option that Mercedes uses. This is a very nice feature when you can't pull very far off of the road.
As for the rear fogs, ultra-low visibility is so seldom here in Washington (and Tennessee I imagine), it's more or less a novelty. Tailgaters beware!!!
- Tryg

Re: Add 2nd rear fog light. (CURT)

I did that on my Saab. Replaced them both with 'hyper-brights' as well, so they were even brighter than the brake lights. Worked nicely for tailgaters. If not because they simulated brakelights, then because they were so obnoxiously bright. A nice first step before you start washing your windshield.
