I'm planning to hot-wire my trusty Valentine 1 Radar detector into my new S60. The old 850 had an accessory connector under the dash, but can't see any on this car. I ordered the "Electronic accessory prep" for a few bucks but believe this was for the phone kit. Is there a hidden connector somewhere? Failing this the best bet would appear to be to tap into the 12V (cigarette lighter) wire behind the dashboard fusebox (which unclips). Many thanks in advance. Phil

Phil,
There seems to be two very popular methods of installing the V1. The first way is to tap the power from the cigarette lighter and the second way is to use the fuse box.
If you can find a fuse that is not being used, get a fuse and a fuse tap and put it into that particular fuse #. Then you can run the wires around your dash, to your center console, or wherever you want to put it.
Here are sites that should help:
V1 Hardwire into an Audi A4
V1 Hardwire into a BMW E28
V1 Hardwire Install BMW M-Net
-Drew
