I actually have the second setup. Bought Brembo rotors from http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/ and bought Volvo OEM pads on eBay cheap. Replaced them myself to save labor costs.

Well I actually heard from my mechanic that zimmerman are much better than the cheap brembo's. I know you can also get Balo discs for our cars. He said he was so impressed with these discs he put them on his S500.

Just don't order Powerslots from them. I have been waiting since April for my rear setup. Got the front already...

Akebono ceramics = clean wheels.
They don't have the initial bite that the oe's do, but they will stop you well. The akebono's are oe for many Japanese vehicles including Lexus, I believe.
I have them with Brembo rotors. I'm surprised at the price differential, when I bought mine, they were about the same as the zimmermans, maybe less.
The rotor hats did rust quickly. Whatever you get, paint the hats before you install them. Just mask the rotor face, clean the machining oil off and spray away, you'll appreciated it next spring.

dont forget, FCP has a 10% off over $100 in the month of june.
i might order their brake kit as well.
here is the ad:
http://campaign.constantcontac...1s%3D

I also have the Akebono with Brembos from FCP, an like the braking. I couldn't stand cleaning the dust off the Tethys from the OEM pads. The Akebonos make almost zero dust and zero noise, and stop nicely.
Again, Brembos do rust rather quickly. Now I wish I'd painted the hats on mine.
I would add that #3 seems like a sweet deal. I put mintex pads on a friends car once and they seemed nice. Don't know how much they dust. I also can't imagine there's too much of a difference between the Brembo rotors and the Zimmermans.
