Which one would you choose, the new Audi A4 3.0, BMW 330i, Mercedes C320, or Volvo S60 T5? The Volvo S60 T5 is an awesome car that faces some stiff competition in this great segment. Can it succeed?

-Drew

For me, the S60 is a good choice in the near term. Why? The new Audi isn't here. And I wouldn't buy a BMW just because I don't want the stuck-up image it projects.
Once the A4 shows up the S60 will need AWD to compete. It wouldn't hurt to have AWD just to enhance the driving dynamics.
As far as styling goes, I think the S60 and the BMW are tough competitors. The A4 and C320 just aren't very eye-catching.

This would be my ranking:
1. Volvo S60
2. Mercedes C-class
3. BMW 3-series
4. Audi A4
The S60 has a fantastic design, offers most space on the front seats, has a superior safety equipment and I really love the sound of these in-line-5-cylindre-engines.
The C-class is definitely a very good car with a nice exterior design but interior design is lousy. It's the worst one of these four cars.
BMW is a sporty car, but it is just much too small. Either you take the 4-cylindre-engine (118 hp) or you'll have to spend a lot of money - only to get the 6-cylindre-engine. That car is very expensive.
A few days ago, I sat in the new A4: nothing is really bad, but I just don't like that VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda style-mixture. I don't buy a car with the same buttons as I find them in a much cheaper car.
Exterior design of the A4 is quite boring.

Volvo will be implementing the Haldex system, which now runs in other production cars like Audi's TT. That should prove very interesting.
I'm curious what the new A4 will look like in person. The pics look pretty nice.
I just saw my first S60 T5 last week. It's a very attractive car. I'm curious, I bet many of the main car magazines will do comparos on these cars.
