for those of you waiting for the 850/70 series coilovers here's a picture of the S40 with the newly installed KW Coilovers. Front is maxxed out to the bottom and rear still has about 1/2"-3/4" to go since I mounted the shock on the modified lower setting of my lower control arms. I'm thinking it'll drop a little more since it seems like it's settling day after day.

And a pic of the seats fully installed!!

Looking very good Carlos!
One question, can you see any sign over "over stretched" driveshafts?
Like they are to horizontal or almostrunning out of travel?(If you know what I mean.. )

Re: A sign of hope? (BSR_rckt)

So Ralph, what do you say if we cannot get a better answer from KW soon, we should all consider cancelling the order?
I know it's not the best situation for Carlos, and when I just talked to him...he could understand why we would want to do that. Seriously, if these guys cannot get their act straight, I don't see why a group effort of boycotting KW cannot show them we are not happy with this.
Also talked to Darren of KW of NA, he said, he already sent some email asking the KW German to confirm the delivery time of Jan 22nd. See the thing is, if they could confirm with us once about shipping in late December then turned around and did not send out anything nor any notify us about this.....what makes you think they would not do it again.
I say, we wait for the confirmation in another few days, and if we do not receive the tracking number on the 24th...we should all just cancel the order.
Hey..you never know there could be others who do not go online...and still would like to do business with them.

Re: A sign of hope? (The_one_n_only)

Kai, I'm to the point of cancelling the order myself. If they reset the date one more time, I'm out. I already told Carlos about it, we spoke for a long time the other day. It's very frustrating when they lie and too top it off all the damn instructions are in German, what about freaking English people!!.
"Throw me a freaking bone here"
I got my IPD sway bars just sitting there and I'm hoping that KW gets there head out of their arse and ship the goddies, I'll wait till the 24th and I'll call you to see what we are going to decide. I know that Lihn wants to cancel his order for his 855R soon.
They hold the key, if they can't compromise to a date, I promise that I will bash KW as long as I live
Now, to start from scratch again
After all I guess I will have to settle for the Koni's.
As for Carlos, I guess I can get other goodies from him like the A-Tech IC
By the way Kai, how's your tranny holding out with the larger turbo?
And did you re-dyno the car?

Re: A sign of hope? (BSR_rckt)

Yeah, I know what you mean. These KW guys obviously have no respect for their customers, and they don't seem to care if they will have a bad reputation among the Volvo community. I guess they have enough business from other brand cars and don't need any from us.
I just feel bad that Carlos would have to get dragged into all these.
Yeah, I think 24th will be their last chance to redeem themselves. No tracking number, no business.
Tranny is definitely not holding up to the stress. :-D Not a good sign, the tranny is slipping for sure. Don't even know if the LSD will cure it. It just got so much more power than what I used to have....especially when the boost kicks in. Not surprised that the car was going nowhere and just have the engine reving like mofo.
No chance to redyno the car yet. Maybe when everything else gets done first. Got projector headlight project on the list, then EST's SAM LSD and coilover. Maybe I'll have an idea when to do the dyno tuning when I get other things sorted out first.
If KW falls through the cracks, I will just call this other Taiwanese company for their coilover with electronic control similar to Teins. So, if KW is smart enough, they'll get their act straight.
I wonder if anyone can forward this thread to KW.

I have made KW Canada aware of this thread.
I'm hoping only for the best next week.

Johann, to answer your question about the halfshafts, they dont seem to look overstressed and I don't feel anything out of the ordinary when turning.

Not a good sign that the tranny is slipping, I guess you hit that limit without the LSD. I hope that the LSD helps you out, it's got to so you can use that turbo to it's full capacity
As for Carlos, he's a great guy and I trust him and I know that it's not his fault, I would buy parts from him any day. Another thing that I mentioned to Carlos was, if we do get the KW kits, what about support and replacement parts in the future??
If the KW kit falls thru the cracks, let me know on that Taiwanese company, I'm up for it.
Thanks Carlos for the update and did they respond to you regarding the bounciness?
Has anyone seen that show on TNN this past Sunday at noon or on Saturdays at 12:30 called, the editors from Turbo, European car, etc.. have this half hour show. They had a few Supras on the dyno, the Venon Supra pushed 1087HP with two turbos and nitrous. Pretty cool, check it out.
Here's the link:
http://www.europeancarweb.com/promo/00002nr_promo/
Re: A sign of hope? (BSR_rckt)

Is there any reason why you guys are staying away from the leda kit? Seems to be a bit cheaper then the KW.
From volvospeed board:
from old post
leda volvo 850 pdf file
"the guy (chris i think) was really patient and nice...i had a hard time picking up his british accent.
the prices for shipping from uk to sf (and portland since we're both west coast) is 100 £. so totals around US$1000. this includes adjustable rear and springs. cheaper if u get front only. coils are custom ordered, spring rate custom and either progressive or linear, at no extra cost. i only wish the 24 setting struts at softest are softer, the softest is supposed to be around bilsteins hd spec. just can't beat the price, kalmar-union has same one (leda makes it for them), but sells it for a few hundred dollars more. considering volvo's own ohlins kit sells for $1600 as option or accessory...this is a steal
still...wish someone would tell me about real world exprience with this"
i think eurosporttuning used to have something very similar ... or was it eastern? i forgot. but in anycase, it was cheaper to call leda directly
finally, some stuff to look at regarding leda...i could not find anything about them on the web for the longest time. anyway, here it is
mosley motorsport use of leda
rally performance using leda on subaru
Re: A sign of hope? (volvos70turbo)

I've heard leakage problem with their shocks. And one of the companies that assemble and hand build these LEDA kits also admitted to me the problem. Don't exactly remember the detail, but it wasn't a good thing to hear.
