Hi Everyone,<p>So I detailed Tricia's (1800girl) R earlier this week.<p>Here are the results of a much needed bath and TLC:<br><IMG SRC="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/puredrive07/IMG_0166.jpg" BORDER="0"><br><IMG SRC="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/puredrive07/IMG_0167.jpg" BORDER="0"><br><IMG SRC="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/puredrive07/DSC_0531.jpg" BORDER="0"><br><IMG SRC="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/puredrive07/DSC_0527.jpg" BORDER="0"><br><IMG SRC="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/puredrive07/DSC_0528.jpg" BORDER="0"><br><IMG SRC="http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b298/puredrive07/DSC_0525.jpg" BORDER="0">

What steps did you take to detail it? By that I mean did you use clay bar, cutting compound, wax, sealant? What buffer did you use and which pads? The car looks very clean & doesn't seem to have any swirls from what I can see. Great job!

I wash, then claybar, then start off with Mirror Glaze #87 with a cutting foam pad, then for small scratches and swirls I have a finer compound (name slips my mind, but it's by Meguairs) with a polishing foam pad, then I finish it all of NXT Tech Wax with a finishing foam pad, and finally buff it all out with a microfiber pad. I use the Meguairs Dual-Action Buffer.

Naturally I do not know Trish personally but I am guessing she was all smiles when she saw it. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0">

How could I not be! I pulled up in my 1800 and my beautiful clean and shiny S60R was in my driveway!<p>I know how anal Jon is with his detailing...it was a natural for me to hire him. he did an awesome job...and since I didn't have to do all the work, that was even better!<p>The car even feels faster in spite of the 90 degree + humid weather (which is virtually impossible...haha). <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://www.vwvortex.com/vwbb/cool.gif" BORDER="0"> <br>

Looks great! <p>What do you use on the wheels? Did you remove them to clean from the inside? <p>I'm ordering a bunch of orbital supplies for my fall cleaning - where do you get your stuff? PM me if you don't want to reply here! <p>(Nice canopy, BTW. <IMG NAME="icon" SRC="http://********************/smile/emthup.gif" BORDER="0"> )

Nice job-detailing is also a hobby of mine but the one problem I have is getting the headlight lens looking spotless. I have used a few different produts and haven't been very impressed. I have heard toothpaste works well too lol. Also many of the times there is pitting on the inside lens so you cant do anything about that. Anyway do you reccommend a product for the headlight lens?

If anything you might have to move the car forward a foot to get the inside portion that the caliper was blocking. Everything else you can reach by hand.<BR><BR>
