Re: A few Alsfeld pics (V50_T5)

The aftermarket seats look good, any frontal pics? I have the SRS delete resistors if i wanted to do it but unless they were really comfortable like a set of nice recaros i dont think i could do it.

Re: A few Alsfeld pics (ForceFed Motorsports)

While the aftermarket seats look good, I learned last week that our seats are a crucial part of our car's safety system. I didn't know they had a super stiff bar in the bottom that was supposed to help prevent the occupant from being crush in the event of a side impact collision. iPdLucky put a link of it in the ipd section in the gauge pod thread when we were discussing the safety concern of putting a gauge in the A pillar. I'd look into it if you were planning on getting rid of your seats...
The white C30 is one of Heicos show cars, I really like it but I could do without the orange.
Very nice cars though!

OK, here's the frontal pic

these seats are tight! (literally , because I'd need to loose 20 lbs before they'd be comfortable)
but... they also are TUV approved for street use with stock 3 point belts

They are super nice seats! But I kinda like my stock ones. I really like the ones in my gf's S60 though, most comfortable seats I've ever sat in.

Re: A few Alsfeld pics (carreragt7)

these weigh in at around 20 lbs (each) , stock is like 46 lbs, but there's even a CF version that's only 9 lbs w/ leather... cost more than my first , second and third car combined .... but.... VERY nice. would do if I had the money (maybe)
I hear you on the safety thing, after all we drive Volvos

While saving some pounds is/will be important to me in the future with my car, I like how the seats are an integrated part of the safety design.
Watch the video that Lucky posted near the end of this thread, it was very informative on how the seats are part of the safety features:
http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=119081

Having to buckle up a 5pt camlock everytime you go somewhere sucks.
The recaros are freakin nice seats, probably pretty comfortable too.

Re: A few Alsfeld pics (40 Rouge)

You would be surprised at how many customers complain that their front seats have play and i have to tell them its normal its a safety feature lol

Re: A few Alsfeld pics (ForceFed Motorsports)

Force:
My friend told me it feels like the lower part of the backrest is going back and forth a little bit, and I can hear something squeaking while I have a passenger over there. Is this the 'play' you are referring to?

Re: A few Alsfeld pics (mattdoc)

Yes exactly, however there is a Tech journal or TNN that covers the squeak. Basically volvo installs some felt tape in the pivot joint to keep the plastic bushing from rubbing on the metal frame. Its a pain to do but if the car is still under warranty id have the dealer do it lol.
