This black/tan '98 is located at Koons Ford in Sterling, VA. 38,433 miles - Koons "hassle free price" - $25,500.
This is the same '98 that I almost bought last fall but my wife wanted a mini-ute. The steering wheel suede looks pretty bad. The exterior of the car has lots of scratches, rear bumper cover into the back has a ton from sliding things in & out.
When I looked at this car at Don Beyer Volvo it was a reposessed car from some lady in Leesburg, VA. It looked that way because all of her stuff was still in the car.
In January or Feb I saw it was in for service at their dealership and my salesman said that someone purchased it. I had no reason to doubt him.
Now its at the Ford dealership a mile from my house. All-in-all the car is fine, just a bit too many scratches that are easy to see on the black paint. The interior is in good shape except for the condition of the steering wheel.
VIN: YV1LW524XW2431106
If anyone wants me to get some picts let me know, I may have some from last fall.

Why wouldn't they let you drive it after showing up in an old 240? When I showed up to my local dealer when I was car shopping I showed up in a 79 242 with the muffler on it's last legs. IMO they should give you extra attention. If they are any kind of salesman they should recognize that you are probably a brand loyal type of person and dollar signs should appear in the back of their heads.
I had 2 strikes against me when I bought my S70 T5SE.
#1: I'm 28 and look 24 and I was accompanied by my wife who looks 21.
#2: I was dressed "My age" (ie: I wasn't wearing what I would wear to work) Although I was neat and not sloppy.
One Volvo dealer brushed us off so we went elsewhere. I bought the S70 there and the kicker is that when I buy accessories and parts I go to the first dealer because I have a good relationship with the parts guy, and a couple of times the "salesman" who brused me off sees me in my newest car. He did a double take once and I think he realizes he lost a sale.
IMO one of the qualities of a good salesman is treating EVERYONE with the same respect. (Who know's I could have been a millionaire dot com success story) (I wish)
Jay

If you are worried, stop by my house and we'll drive up in my S70. I'm a exactly 1 mile from the dealer.
Half the time when I go to dealers to look at cars I purposely drive my VW Rabbit Pickup so they leave me alone.

I wouldn't be insulted if they refused a test drive.
OTOH, I went along with my mom when she bought her '00 Jetta. The sales manager overheard me during one of the times I was trying to tell my mom to get the 1.8T instead of the VR6, and the guy gave me his card and pretty much offered me a job. Considering that the salesman we dealt with was only about 22-23, it was nice to see that they didn't discriminate against age.
So who knows, maybe Koon's would let me take the R for a spin.

The sales rep there pretended to kiss my arse and never followed up with me. 2 months later I went in there again, and put down a niffty 5k deposit for the car with another sales person. The first guy beat himself to death because he realized he lost a potential sale himself.
