I'm looking at a T5 manual with over 120k on the clock. I've driven my current little Ford wagon for over 170k on the same clutch, but I don't have a clue how long the clutch on something like a V70 would last.
I know it depends on the previous owner, but is there a limit? Should the car already have a new clutch in it?
One more question, which is faster in stock form (0-60), a 98 T5 manual, or an 00 R?
Thanks!

Re: 98 T5 Manual - Clutch life ?? (Newberry)

Hard to tell- at those miles it may already be on its third clutch. If you can't get maintenance or service records, assume it is on the original clutch and that you will have to replace it in the next 30k miles or so.
Regarding which is faster, I would imagine a '98 T5 manual would be a tick quicker than a '00 R. The T5, although a little down on power, is not lugging around the heavier AWD system.

Thanks for the replies guys.
With a lift available to me, how many hours could I expect to put into a clutch job?
