I bought my car used (98 S90)and it didn't come with a users manual. Does anyone know what the three buttons next to the shift are for? They read W S E.

W - Winter Mode - starts out in 2nd gear and is for driving in the snow.

S - Sport Mode - shifts at higher revs for better performance.

E - Economy Mode - shifts at lower revs for better fuel economy.

One small thing...

W - On the 960/90 it starts in 3rd gear actually, but it is for avoiding slipping in those types of conditions.
