Base = 168 HP
GLT = Light Pressure Turbo 190HP
T5 = High Pressure Turbo 236HP (Was known as a Turbo for the 850 models for years 1997 and ealier.)
You can see the turbo if you look under the hood, it situated behind the engine block. There is a inlet pipe that run above the engine that I assume would be exclusive to turbo models.

1999 Models

VOLVO FULL LINE PRICING 1999 MODELS
Rockleigh, NJ -- Never before in Volvo’s history have so many new cars rolled out of Sweden in such short time. In the last 18 months, the S70 and V70 debuted, a totally new car line: the C70 Coupe and Convertible, three all-wheel-drive wagons, and now the S80.
The S80 is more than just another Volvo. With an interior design bringing forth Scandinavian feelings of open space, use of light and shadows, and warm harmonic blending of form and function, no previous Volvo has ever offered this level of comfort and sensuous feeling. This is a new class of Volvo. The S80 is a true entry into the prestigious world of luxury automobiles.
The S80, is priced squarely at being the best overall value in the International Luxury class. With standard features not found on many of its competitors, the S80 provides an unparalleled combination of safety, comfort and Volvo Value Advantage.
Standard safety features on the S80 are Side Impact Protection System with side impact air bags for front seat occupants, and Volvo’s Inflatable Curtain, plus Volvo’s famous safety cage engineering just to mention a few. The Inflatable Curtain helps shield front and rear side seated occupants during side impacts. While the Whiplash Protection seat design will reduce rear impact loads placed on front seat occupants to help reduce the effect of this type accident injury.
Volvo Value Advantage price comparison helps to level the S80s competitive playing field. This approach takes the manufacturer’s suggested retail price and adds comparable features for this group of luxury vehicles to create a truer pricing image.
Pricing for the S70, V70, C70 series reflects a $400 increase over 1998 pricing. With discounts from Option Package pricing, improvements in side impact protection air bag system, the addition of Immobilizer anti-theft ignition system and Home Safe Lighting, the net result is actually a price reduction.
Volvo Cars of North America, Inc.
1999 Model Year Price List
S80
PRICES
Model Suggested Retail Price
S80 2.9 A $35,820
S80 T-6 A $40,385
FACTORY OPTIONS
Options Suggested Retail Price
Power glass sunroof with auto open/close & anti-trap $1,200
Ultra Security Package
- Mass movement sensor
- Inclination sensor
- Security laminated side glass $485
4 CD In-Dash Surround Sound (T-6)1 $750
4 CD In-Dash Surround Sound (2.9)2 $1,075
Cold-Weather Package (heated front seats and headlamp washer/wiper) (2.9) $450
Volvo Navigational System3 $2,495
17” 2.9 Alloy Wheel $395
17” T-6 Alloy Wheel $395
Full Soft Leather (T-6) $1,595
Leather (seating surface) (2.9) $1,195
Note: S80 2.9 is only available with 4 speed automatic transmission
S80 T-6 is only available with 4 speed automatic transmission with geartronic manual control
Manual transmission is not available on the S80
1 Please note that 4 CD player replaces the tape cassette in this system.
2 Includes upgrade to 200-Watt amplifier/upgraded speakers.
3 Retailer net of $1,995 is for the factory installed navigation unit. I have owned 2 1998 S70 T5 SE - I don't know exactly what the SE trim package meant - was it Special Edition or Sport Edition. From what I recall since I didn't buy them new - but they were the standard T5 - but the trim package included a wood inlay steering wheel and Alcantara "suede" inserts in the seating upholstery. I know they were available in 5 speed M but both of mine were automatic ( 3 speed I think) once had an SC900 the other only had the SC816. I think they had all the options as far as trip computer - cold weather package, TRACS, Sport Econ Winter... was this trim package unique to Canada as I haven't seen any in any US listings.

And maybe nice to know: there is a difference in horsepower in europe in the T5-R. For instance the Italian T5-R is a 2 litre with 210 hp.
And the normal one 2.3 litre with 250 hp.

We have also a S/V70 with 140 hp.

(Comment to top post, my browser does not like the "reply with quote" button:D)

This is incorrect. The only 850 ever delivered with 250HP is the manual 850R. The T5Rs have a an overboostfunction which increases output to 240HP when flooring the pedal, until then it is a 226HP ngine, I assume it has to do with the throttle position sensor, making the T5 and T5R differ only in ECU and what equipment beeing delivered standard. 850R Automatics had were delivered with 240HP engines. The Italian market was supplied with both T5s and T5Rs with the twolitre 211HPengines, but the T5R 2.0 still had the overboostfunction, cranking it up to 240HP. It all has to do with import taxes, apparently the Italians have some crazy fee once you get to a certain outputlevel. Here in Norway, the 2.0 211HP T5R is rated as a 240HP car because of the overboostfunction, but in Italy only as a 211HP car. Crazy.

However, I fail to see the relevance to this thread, seeing as the T5R was an 850 version, only delivered in 1995, and this beeing an x70-thread. Admin feel free to relocate this to wherever you see fit.

Can anyone tell me where I can find the interior dimensions (in inches, not cubic volume) for these vehicles? (Specifically the wagons).
Thanks!

Why would you ask this here, a sub forum not read much anymore?
