Hi. It looks like I need a new turbo for my 95 850. The wastegate lever does not move freely and I'm told it can't be repaired. I don't know what type I have on it or what I can upgrade to. If anyone has done this or is familiar with it can you give me some advice?
Thanks very much in advance.
Regards
Ed

That is wicked to say the least!
Great job, that flange really does look clean. How hard would it be for anybody to find C70 pipes I wounder? That is amazing it only took two days. Thanks for sharing that!

The upgrade is soo worth it! I've worked on and driven Terence's old 850 many times in the past. I can totally stand next to the performance level of his car. The mods really help with the overall performance and take it to the next level. The really key thing in this mod is to have the right computer. Doing all of the upgrades are useless without the right ECU. If you decide to fork out the money for the turbo and injectors...let me know.
Prospero

I think it would be quite hard to find a C70 downpipe. I a just lucky enough to have Kai as a friend But I think after all these years, ATR should have a downpipe that fits the 16T turbo by now.

With a little digging, you should be able to find a C70 in a salvage yard with the proper pipes. I did the same upgrade to my 850 about a year and a half ago, and had no trouble locating a wrecked C70 in a salvage yard. At the time I was looking, I had found 4 different C70's to choose parts from, so I picked the one with the least miles on it... (of course!)
Other than having had to recently replace the ATR catalytic converter with a more efficient one, I've had no problems with the setup, and the car is a blast to drive.

quote:
Originally posted by Spearzy:
That is wicked to say the least!
Great job, that flange really does look clean. ECM upgrade? Who said anything about that?
Actually, when I was trying to diagnose the converter problems, I was running the setup with the stock ECM in it, and it was suprisingly good performance. Wouldn't boost higher than about 8-10PSI max, but it felt better than stock.
Kai, FYI - I followed your advice from a year ago, and went with the Random Technology cat... excellent product! You can see the difference in quality right away, and the flow rate is much better through it.
